In our western culture, we eat primarily sweet and salty foods.  For millenia, Chinese medicine has recommended balancing all of the tastes – sweet, salty, pungent, sour and bitter.   Eating bitter or sour foods causes a completely different digestive enzyme response than does eating sweet or salty foods.   In particular, bitter foods  cause a digestive response that is  incredibly healing and balancing.

Bitter foods may include:

  • Radicchio
  • Frizee
  • Arugula
  • Radishes
  • Asparagus
  • Kohlrabi

Put away your Antacids, and include bitter foods in your diet!

Summer closure

Our annual summer holiday is upon us!  Cornerstone will be closed from July 25-29th, reopening after the Civic Holiday on Tuesday August 2nd.  There are no appointments or supplement refills available during this time.
