OTTAWA – Health Canada is informing Canadians that McNeil Consumer Healthcare (Canada) is conducting a voluntary recall of Children’s Benadryl Allergy Meltaways tablets sold in Canada. McNeil is requesting that wholesalers and pharmacies immediately stop sale of this product.

The recall of the marketed lots is being conducted as a precautionary measure since the company has   identified quality control concerns only on lots that had not been released for sale. It is important to note that no associated adverse reactions have been reported to Health Canada.

Health Canada will continue to monitor the safety of health products on the Canadian market, including those manufactured at McNeil Consumer Healthcare plants and will inform Canadians if new safety information arises.
